I'm Laura Kelly, and I'm heavily invested in seeing you change your relationship with fear, comparison, and self-doubt, so you can finally get out of your own way and start taking consistent steps towards your bigger goals, especially if those goals help you find more joy and more fulfillment in your life!

THE CHEER CAMP STORY

In 2018 I set out to discover something that would light my soul on fire even more than the first business I created as a luxury wedding photographer. I started a podcast called "You Might Not Like It" to document the transition into my second career. 

In 2019 I started offering one-on-one coaching work (although my own imposter syndrome had me afraid to use the word "coach," so I settled for "mentor" for a little while until I built up confidence in my offering.)

Over the next year I got really clear about who I love to work with and how I can serve them through a combination of support and push.

In 2021 the idea for CHEER CAMP emerged on a blank piece of paper. I loved the idea of my coaching clients getting to know each other, supporting each other, and forming friendships that would last.

Just 3 weeks later I'd have my first squad of 7 openminded souls who were committing to transform their confidence and self-worth over the next 6 months.

I created that program in real time while that first squad was working through it. Looking back, these 7 people were truly fundamental in shaping the experience of what CHEER CAMP would ultimately become.

I spent a lot of time collecting feedback from my first squad in 2021, and the one thing all of their stories had in common: they didn't want it to stop. 

The lessons and the exercises we did in CHEER CAMP were a big part of their transformations, but it was also the consistency of meeting each month, of sharing our progress and our wins. There was something really powerful about having this community to offer encouragement, support, and friendship.

Brimming with pride, I geared up to launch the next squad in October of 2021. But no one signed up.

I remember feeling so confused and defeated. I filled that first squad so easily when it was just a concept, and now that I had real PROOF that the process worked and it was... crickets?

It took me 3 months to gain the courage to launch it again, but the outcome didn't change. Two spots filled, leaving six sad little empty spaces on the post-it note I kept beside my desk.

The CHEER CAMP story is steeped with failure. But if you adjust your scope and look at it again, you'll see resilience, bravery, and passion. I knew the story wasn't over. Enter 2022...

THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I'M IN!

I set out on a mission to make CHEER CAMP more accessible. I went back and forth a hundred times about what the new format could look like, before settling on a membership community with an affordable price point that allows the work to unfold indefinitely.

I wrote the following words in my journal: "Maybe I'm not meant to serve 8 people. Maybe I'm meant to serve many more."

In the Spring of 2022 I welcome 21 Founding Members of the newly reimagined CHEER CAMP. We've been forming connections and layer on building our confidence and self-worth together as a group ever since.

+ I married the first guy who slipped a note in my locker (and we're celebrating fifteen years together and ten years married this year!)

+ my greatest fears: garbage, walking on ice, and not being able to fill an awkward silence. (oh, and the little gust of air that happens when you close the dishwasher and it kinda smells like food)

+ I never seem to learn the lesson about buying cheap shoes

My first job as a confidence coach was in raising these two tiny humans.

Cooper is thoughtful, kind, and really good at math and strategy games. Jilly is a little spitfire, just like her mom. She has the gift of comedic timing, and is the most confident and empathetic person I've ever met.
